Mobility-What does it mean?

Mobility: What do we understand by mobility....
By definition, mobility means the state of being mobile...or mobility is the ability and willingness to move or change;
If we take this definition into consideration, why do we have to be mobile in a healthcare organization or in a hospital.
We will first look at the diverse nature of a hospital, its work flow and assess to what extent are we being mobile right now and what can we expect in the future..

Hospital is a place where people come to get themselves examined and treated...
The first encounter at the hospital for the patient is at the registration clerk who registers the patient and gives the patient a unique identification number.
All visits and treatments given to the patient can be identified with this unique number. This number is also used by the doctor to search, view, edit, update reports, order investigations, chalk out a treatment plan etc.
Hence all these procedures till now are being performed on a paper.

Where is mobility here?
Mobility in the hospital starts from the time the patient is registered and starts the consultation with the doctor/nurse.
Hence the use of mobile technology needs to be reviewed from here.
